About
Recorded after his memorable role in <i>The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou</i> brought the Brazilian singer/songwriter a new audience, <i>Cru</i> showcases Seu Jorge's modernist style. Like the original bossa nova performers of the late '50s, Jorge brings new international flavors to Brazil's homegrown melodies and rhythms. Featuring both intensely rhythmic acoustic guitar lines and stark electronic beats, tracks like the bluesy "Una Mujer" fit neatly alongside inspired covers like Serge Gainsbourg's "Chatterton" and a heartfelt take on the Elvis Presley deep cut "Don't."
