Recorded between September and October 2012 at Petrax Studio, Hollola and 5K Studio, Helsinki. Mixed between October and November 2012 at Abyss Studio, Pärlby. Produced by Peter Tägtgren and Amorphi. Mastered by Jonas Kjellgren at Blacklounge Studio. Tracks 1, 2, 5, 8, 9 by Holopainen Tracks 3, 4, 7 by Kallio Track 6 by Koivusaari All songs arranged by Amorphis Videos were made for "Hopeless Days" and "The Wanderer", both directed by Patric Ullaeu. Another video was made for "Nightbird's Song", directed by Denis Goria, and featuring Peter Tägtgren, who produced the album. The limited digipak edition includes a DVD with "The Making of "Circle"", the video clip for "Nightbird's Song" and a photo gallery. The CD also has a bonus track: 10. Dead Man's Dream (04:03) Nuclear Blast mailorder box set (numbered, limited to 500 copies) includes the same bonus track as the digipak, the DVD, a leather wristband and an exclusive 3" CD with two additional tracks: 01. My Future (07:11) 02. Illusion (04:18) The different vinyl editions have a different cover artwork with a bird, include bonus tracks "Dead Man's Dream" and "My Future" and have an additional poster. Japanese CD/DVD limited edition contains two bonus track, one of which is exclusive: 10. Dead Man's Dream (04:03) 11. New Song (04:54) Some digital versions have another bonus track: 10. His Story (04:33) The Korean edition also features two bonus tracks: 10. Dead Man's Dream (04:03) .
