About

Church Gone Wild/Chirpin Hard is the third studio album by the American math rock band Hella, released on March 22, 2005 through Suicide Squeeze Records. The work consists of two solo albums, one by drummer Zach Hill, Church Gone Wild, and another by guitarist Spencer Seim, Chirpin Hard. Church Gone Wild shows a lot more experimental traits, mathy, mostly focused on Zach Hill's drumming and also, the first and last time Zach would do vocals on a Hella project. This is what would later help follow up Zach Hill's solo career, on works like Astrological Straits. Chirpin Hard is a lot more chiptune and electronic, mixed with mathy guitar work by Spencer. This side was most likely followed after the events of Hellas' second work, Total Bugs Bunny on Wild Bass, which was the first instance of the bands electronic and experimental skills. most songs lasting more shorter then the first side, the track that stands out is Chirpin Hard, which is a 17 minute song consisting of just silence being the rest of the song.
