Chickenfoot is the debut self-titled album by American hard rock supergroup Chickenfoot, which was released on June 5, 2009 in Europe and on June 9, 2009 in the US. The album was planned to be packaged with exclusive "heat sensitive" artwork. On March 20, 2009, the band released two song, "Soap on a Rope" and "Down the Drain" on their official website. The band's first single, "Oh Yeah", was released to radio stations nationwide, as well as on their official website, on April 13, 2009. The band was featured in the June 2009 issue of Guitar World as a cover story. They discussed the recording of their self-titled debut album. Joe Satriani revealed many details about the album and the band on a live radio interview at 107.7 The Bone on April 15, 2009. Satriani mentioned recording the album at Skywalker Sound Studios in Marin County. Chickenfoot is an American rock supergroup, consisting of former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar (vocals) and Michael Anthony (bass), solo musician Joe Satriani (guitar) and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. The band released their self-titled debut album, Chickenfoot, on June 5, 2009. Regarding the band's status as a "supergroup", vocalist Sammy Hagar states: "We’re not a supergroup, we like hanging out together and the music is a bonu. We just happen to be in other group." .
