About
"Ceremony of Opposites" is the third studio album by Swiss extreme metal band Samael. It was released by Century Media Records and was the band's second release for the label following their departure from French label Osmose Production. The album retains lyrical themes present on earlier release, including references to Aleister Crowley, Satanism and blasphemy, while also incorporating elements of industrial music, a style that would become more prominent on subsequent album. "Ceremony of Opposites" was produced by Waldemar Sorychta, who has also worked with bands such as Lacuna Coil, Tiamat and Moonspell. In 2005, the album was reissued together with the 1995 EP "Rebellion". Upon its release, "Ceremony of Opposites" received positive reviews from music critic. Review scores included 4.5 out of 5 stars from AllMusic, 91% from Best Black Metal Album, 95 out of 100 from Metal Review, 8.5 out of 10 from Metal Storm, 9 out of 10 from Rock Hard and 4 out of 5 stars from Sputnikmusic. .
