Carboot Soul by Nightmares On Wax

Carboot Soul is an Electronic album by Nightmares On Wax, originally released in 1999. On Gatefold: 28 pressings tracked, owned by 15 collectors.

About

Nightmares On Wax's early bleep-techno releases helped set the futuristic tone of the U.K.'s Warp label. But with 1999's Carboot Soul, he eased into the coziest kind of nostalgia. Named in homage to secondhand-record dealers, his third album is a crate-digger's delight, full of head-nodding breakbeats, muted horns, drowsy Rhodes riffs, and moody funk basslines. Strings and acoustic guitars carry echoes of British folk music, while Sarah Winton's hazy vocals lend whispered intimacy to the softly lit proceedings.
