Brothers And Sisters by The Allman Brothers Band

About

Their first full LP after the death of leader Duane Allman and their last with bassist Berry Oakley, Brothers and Sisters is a central album in The Allman Brothers Band’s mythology. This collection saw singer/guitarist Dickey Betts penning more of their tracks, like the blue-collar anthem “Ramblin’ Man” and the magnificent instrumental “Jessica,” both of which featured epically inspired guitar lines from Betts and Les Dudek. “Wasted Words” and “Southbound,” with Gregg Allman’s trademark dusty blues vocals, rounded the album out.

Notes on "Jelly, Jelly":
Credited to Trade Martin on virtually every release of this album, but is clearly not the same song.- see
Jelly Jelly, Jelly (opens in a new tab).
Rather, the lyrics indicate Jelly Jelly (opens in a new tab), written by Billy Eckstine and Earl Hines,
Confirmed at ASCAP (opens in a new tab)
The final track appears to be a re-worked edit of outake "Early Morning Blues" with the lyrics of "Jelly Jelly" replacing the original lyrics by Greg Allman.
This outtake was later released on Limited/Deluxe editions, e.g. Brothers And Sisters (US 2013) (opens in a new tab) - Early Morning Blues (opens in a new tab).
