Breakthrough by The Gaslamp Killer

Breakthrough is a Hip-Hop album by The Gaslamp Killer, originally released in 2012. On Gatefold: 7 pressings tracked.

About

On Breakthrough, electronic maestro William Bensussen draws from a sonic playbook that encompasses swelling ‘60s baroque pop (“Veins”), gritty ‘70s soul (“Dead Vets”), and South Asian records (“Nissim”)—and maybe even some sounds never before heard in our galaxy. The short sketch “Father” certainly sounds like a series of evil messages received from a faraway constellation, while the Daedelus-assisted “Impulse” is a thrum of shuffling drums, buzzing electronics, and sci-fi beats.
