"Beat Box" first appeared on Into Battle With The Art Of Noise in late 1983, and a UK 7" single (ZTIS 103) followed. The Into Battle record itself initially appeared in U.S. charts as "Beat Box" since there was no other U.S. release containing the song until later in 1984.
The first "Beat Box" remixes, called Diversions, were created in February 1984 and debuted the following month. Diversion Two was the basis of the group's next single, "Close (To The Edit)".
Copyright dates on these releases often say only 1983, but only the ZTIS 103 7" was planned for a December 1983 release, and even that got delayed to around the same time as the first "diversions" release in March 1984.
