About
A newfound interest in Eastern religion set Ben Lee on a mission to communicate comfort and joy, beginning with 2005’s Awake Is the New Sleep. “Whatever It Is” and “We’re All in This Together” are gentle and joyful enough to appeal to parents and kids alike, while Lee’s low-key melodicism makes us believe in the openhearted intentions of “I’m Willing” and “Gamble Everything for Love.” It sounds like sweet music for a quiet Sunday morning, but there are big emotions lurking beneath the unassuming strumming of “Light.”
