About
A comforting melancholy pervades the gauzy indie pop of Alvvays’ second album—the kind of blue mood you can wrap yourself in like a blanket. Sharper, richer, and more confident than their debut, Antisocialites catalogs the ups and downs of romance, from first blush (“Lollipop (Ode to Jim)”) to last chance (“Dreams Tonite”), optimism (“Saved by a Waif”) to regret (“In Undertow”)—what frontman Molly Rankin has called a “fantasy breakup arc.” Smart, funny, catchy, and true, her vision resonates.
