The glimmering, intersecting melodies of “Follow You Follow Me” earned them their first pop hit, though the trilling, thrashing drums of “Down and Out” show that they hadn’t abandoned their diehard prog fans. The wildest journeys unfold on “Burning Rope” and “Scene from a Night’s Dream,” musical mini-movies that teem with fluctuating tones, textures, and rhythms. Meanwhile, “Undertow,” “Many Too Many,” and “Snowbound” are power ballads that deserve their own laser light show.
