About

Following an overwhelmingly popular crowdsourcing campaign, De La Soul’s latest album reaffirms a tradition of boundlessly imaginative hip-hop. The veteran trio manages to spin childlike hilarity and forlorn insight into songs that revel in psych rock, disco-funk breaks, and live instrumentation. De La’s immunity to dullness is mirrored in the eclectic guest list—the icing on an album that turns musical ambition into a dizzyingly fun ride.
