While it doesn’t skimp on songs that underline his rugged, man’s-man side, the collection also shows there’s more to his musical makeup. Raw, rowdy twang fests like “Ladies Love Country Boys” and “Rough & Ready” make the most of Adkins’ mile-wide baritone, but when he leans that big papa-bear voice into tender tearjerkers like “You’re Gonna Miss This,” his gravitas comes through even more clearly.
