Album notes

Discogs page for these notes (opens in a new tab)

'Ahead Rings Out' is the first album by ex-Jethro Tull's guitarist Mick Abrahams new band. It was released in UK and US with a slightly different cover art, and different tracklist; 3 songs are different in each version.
• Songs released in the UK album and not in US: "Sing Me A Song That I Know" / "Up And Coming" / "Leave It With Me"
• Songs released in the US album and not in UK: "Walk On The Water" / "See My Way" / "Summer Day"
Note that the "US tracks" were instead released in singles in the UK and Europe.
The front cover is famous for being a contender for the 'worst album cover art of all time", which was fully embraced by Mick Abrahams who wrote in his liner notes: "To start these cover notes let me say that if the album sleeve doesn't appeal to your taste, take a pair of scissors and cut in a straight line down the centre fold, open record insert fully, and there you have two gay party hats [...]"
