About
"A Secret Wish" was the 1985 debut album of synthpop band "Propaganda". It was produced by Stephen Lipson and Trevor Horn. The album shares many of the characteristics of other early-'80s ZTT releases, especially in the groundbreaking use of synthesizers, such as the Fairlight CMI. The singles "Duel" and "Dr. Mabuse" were both successful UK chart hits. The track "p:Machinery" was also released as a single, and was featured in an episode of the 80's TV "Show Miami Vice".

The debut album by Propaganda has, since its release, existed in two similar but distinct formats:
The original LP version (retrospectively titled the 'Analogue Sequence' on streaming services) contains an instrumental version of "Jewel", and the finale "The Last Word/Strength To Dream", whilst the CD version ('Digital Sequence') omits that final track, but adds the additional track "Frozen Faces" and has alternative versions of "Dream Within A Dream", "Jewel" (very similar to the 'Cut Rough' version from the single with a vocal), "Duel", "p:Machinery" and "Dr. Mabuse" (which incorporates the "Strength To Dream" ending from the LP).
Subsequent reissues mix and match the contents of the two in some fashion, using some or all of the songs from across the two versions.
