A Predator's Portrait is the third full-length studio album released by the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. It was released on February 19, 2001. This album is considered by many as the band's finest hour, possibly their most popular (followed closely by their follow-up Natural Born Chaos), and the transitional album that set them apart from other Swedish death metal band. This is the first album where Björn "Speed" Strid started utilizing clean vocals mixed with his traditional screaming style. Band members Björn "Speed" Strid − vocals Peter Wichers − lead and rhythm guitar Ola Frenning − lead and rhythm guitar Henry Ranta − drums Ola Flink − bass guitar Carlos Del Olmo Holmberg − keyboard, artwork Additional musicians Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth) − guest vocals on "A Predator's Portrait". Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen) − guest solo on "Needlefeast". Eskil Simonsson − samples on "Grand Failure Anthem". Songwriting All music by Soilwork. All lyrics by Björn "Speed" Strid except songs 2, 3, 4 and 8 written by Strid with Peter Wicher, Henry Ranta and Jens Broman. Production Produced by Fredrik Nordström and Soilwork.
